Everything is Health is the new podcast brought to you by co-hosts Maddie Elder, a UBC medical student, and Nick Ubels, a UBC Community Engagement Librarian. Everything is Health is a conversation that explores current health research in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) and discusses the implications for the community and beyond. With topics including unemployment, housing, and safe supply, Everything is Health is a great way to learn about current health-related research in the DTES.
Everything is Health is supported by the Making Research Accessible initiative (MRAi), whose goal is to increase the benefit, usefulness, and accessibility of research in the DTES. For more information about the DTES Research Access Portal, visit https://dtesresearchaccess.ubc.ca/

Research Access Portal (RAP) to include podcasts in collection
The UBC Learning exchange has also expanded their collection in the Research Access Portal (RAP) to include podcasts that discuss Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside or topics relating to the area and community. Podcast additions include topics such as low-income tenants in the Downtown Eastside, Fentanyl contamination deaths during COVID-19, and following a group of Chinese seniors through a season of planting, tending, and harvesting their community garden.
